Deanna was pacing the kitchen, it has been nearly an hour since Dr. Roberts had arrived and he still had not come up with a good plan to get her out of her apartment without being seen.  Deanna was growing more impatient by the moment.  As her new paws stepped forward, one by one on the tile, her claws made a clanking noise every time she took a step.  Deanna stopped in her track and took a long, hard look at Dr. Roberts, who was deep in thought.

"Well! What's taking so long?  You are the one in the room with their Doctoral degree buster," said Deanna exasperated, folding her arms across her chest.

Blinking several times, Dr. Donald Roberts concentration was broken.  He looked up from the spot on the table he was staring at and looked over at Deanna.  He had just realized that she happen to be in the room.  Looking her over, Dr. Louis noticed that she had changed her top; it was now just a one-piece red bikini top but showed signs of being too small on her.  He smiled at Deanna, noticing that her tail was wagging.  "I'm working on it, ok?  The amazing thing about this whole situation is that a newscaster was the one who happened to walk in on you in the laundry room.   Maybe she can help us,' said Dr. Roberts wishfully.  'But I digress.  There is a lot more pressing concerns that her.  I think we can sneak you out of here when most of the newscasters are gone tonight around maybe midnight or 1 am.  We will just have to wait and see.  By the way, did you know that your tail is wagging?"

Shocked that Dr. Louis would ask that question; Deanna turned her head and saw that her tail was indeed wagging.  Deanna tried to stop the tail with her mind but not being successful she tried to grab the tail with her hand.  Not being able to do that she reached out again.  This time she was able to grab her tail.  "Stop that," she said to her tail.

Giving a chuckle, Dr. Roberts stated, "Now that is very interesting development."

"What is?" asked Deanna, looking up at Dr. Roberts.

"The fact that now your human half is pretty much facing towards your rear end.  Did you not realize that?" said Dr. Roberts.

Now that he had said it Deanna realized that in fact that she was indeed facing towards her back.  Letting go of her tail, Deanna gasped.  "How is this possible?!" said a scared Deanna in a high pitched voice.

"It's ok.  It is all a part of the transformation.  I guess I just didn't think that your upper body would work as a dog's head would normally work," said Dr. Roberts.

With pleading eyes, Deanna looked at Dr. Louis and said, "Please help me?"

"I will and am.  Now if you do not mind I will like to do some tests and measurements on you," said Dr. Roberts.

"Like what kind of tests and measurements?" she asked.

"For example, I would like to get your height, length, and samples of your human hair and for lack of a better term your animal hair. I would very much like to have those numbers and samples for scientific research,' responded Dr. Roberts.  'Will that be ok with you?"

Looking at him thoughtfully, Deanna was hesitant to answer.  But after several moments of considering the proposal she realized if she was in his position she would be asking the exact same questions.  "I guess I will say yes to you Dr. because I would ask the same exact question if I was you," said Deanna, giving a tentative smile.

"Great! Let us begin then," said Dr. Roberts as he stood up and walked over to Deanna.

"I have a few things like a tape measure and things in my closet behind some of my old stuff," said Deanna and led him into her room.

They went over to her closet and she opened the door and seemingly walked in.  Dr. Roberts heard some noise and bangs from inside the closet.

"Are you ok?" asked Dr. Roberts.

"Yes," said a muffled response.

A moment later Deanna's tail came out of the closet, once again it was wagging, followed by her dog body and then her human torso, finally a tool box came sliding out.

"Here it is," said Deanna, not exactly sure what she would do with it.

"Thank you," respond Dr. Roberts.  He walked over to the box and unlatched it.  Rummaging through the box he found a tape measure, scissors, a note pad and pencil, several bags with nails in them, which he immediately opened and dumped all the nails out onto the floor.

"Now let's begin," said Dr. Roberts.

"Ok," said Deanna, suddenly unsure of her and of Dr. Louis.

Seeing this Dr. Roberts said, "Think of this as lab work.  That we just gathering data for a big report you have to do for one of your graduate classes."

Giving a weak smile Deanna nodded and then signaling she was ready for him to start examining her.

What seemed liked hours, the examination and data collecting seemed to drag on.  Finally, Dr. Roberts had collected all the data he wanted.  Deanna seemed to be slightly flustered by all of the touching and prodding but felt that Dr. Roberts was very respectful and scientific about the whole thing.

Looking up, Dr. Roberts noticed that it was already 11:30 pm.  "Wow is that the time!?" he said, surprised.

Looking at the time too Deanna was surprised too but it wasn't all too unexpected to her.  "Well, what did you find out so far Doc?"

"Well by my measurements, your upper body has obviously become proportionate with your German Shepard body.  You now stand, from paw to top of your head, at 5' 1".  You seem to be very healthy.  Then from the tip of your tail to front leg shoulders I found that your length to be nearly 26" long.  Amazingly, I found that your bust is at 34" around, and by the looks of it you are nearly bursting through your bikini top.  Maybe we should stop to get you a new size.  Furthermore, your waist is at a small 24" and connects to your dog half seamlessly as far as I can tell.  But before we can get a full diagnostic I will have to get you to my lab.  There I have the tools to do all the tests properly."

Sighing at the news, Deanna took everything will a grain of salt.  "Well when do you think we can get to your office?  I have been coopted up in this apartment all day and I need to get out," said Deanna.

"Let me get my coat and we will try our luck right now," said Dr. Roberts.

"Let's go then," said Deanna, she pulled a light coat off of her bed and walked for the bedroom door.  Dr. Roberts followed.  He grabbed his coat from the kitchen table and they both headed to the front door.

Dr. Louis got to the door first and asked Deanna, "Are you ready?"

"As ready as I will ever be," she responded nervously.

Nodding Dr. Roberts turned towards the door and slowly opened it.  He opened the door just enough to stick his head out into the hallway.  There was no one in sight.  Signaling Deanna to follow, he opened to door completely and stepped out into the hallway.  Deanna apprehensively stepped out into the hallway, looking both ways before she stepped out and next to Dr. Roberts.

"Ok that part is done.  Let us go for my car," said Dr. Roberts.

Deanna nodded in agreement and they both started to walk towards the elevator.  They got to the elevator with no actual media sightings.  Smiling, Deanna thought, "We may get out of here without a hitch".

Ding, the elevator opened and both Donald and Deanna got on.  Pressing the button for the first floor Donald said, "That seemed a little too easy.  But be prepared if there are some media personalities down in the lobby and we are rushed."

"Yes I know," Deanna said as the doors closed.

The elevator opened to an empty lobby.  Both took a hesitant peek out into the lobby to find that all was well.  So they continued on their journey to the Dr.'s car.  Deanna's realized that her tail was wagging from fear and nervousness.  "I'm going to have to control that," thought Deanna, although she had not noticed that she started to pant.

Once they were outside of the front doors they both heard a voice call out, "There they are!"

Looking in the direction of the voice they noticed that there were several newscasters still waiting around the building.  The newscasters started to run towards them saying things like "can we have interview?", "What is it like to be a dog?", "What happened to you miss?"

"Quickly, to my car," said Donald as he ran towards his car.

Deanna burst after the good Doctor, only to catch up to him a few seconds later and final pass him, betting him to his car.

Dr. Roberts hastily unlocked the back door, "Quickly, jump in."  Without a thought Deanna jumped into the back seat, ducking her head behind the seat so that the cameramen couldn't get a good shot of her.

Dr. Roberts unlocked the driver's side door to his 1998 Toyota Camry and slid in.  Starting up the car, he put the gear into reverse and hit the gas.  His car speeds backwards, screeching on the asphalt of the parking lot.  Turning the car to the right, the car was now facing the newscasters, who had just caught up to the car.

Hearing so many questions at once Deanna could not hear a coherent question from any of the newscasters and she covered her ears in dread.  Then Dr. Roberts sped away, leaving the newscasters alone in the parking lot.
